'Tis a beautiful photo of a propeller and engine. And I like that guy's moustache!
The time of propellers isn't all that old. In 1957, I was in the U.S. Navy and flew from the US to Morocco in a four-engine propeller-driven plane. All went well until we were over Canada on our way home when one engine froze up and the propeller stopped spinning. That will get your attention quick. But we were able to land safely!

I think that the mustache and the propeller resemble each other :)
